Zachary's birthday, just like the rest of this year, seemed to sneak up on us with no warning. I felt so unprepared but I think we pulled off a little birthday for Daddy quite well. Zach is well on his way to thirty and we don't know how we are getting so old. I remember celebrating his 17th birthday and just wondering if we would end up together or not, life is such a crazy adventure. The day before Zachs birthday we went on a little date to an arcade, coldstone and got us some fitness tracker devices. Dates are much needed so I figured it would be a great surprise!
On Zachary's birthday we started out with our traditional opening up the presents first thing in the morning. All the kids loved watching Daddy and of course helping open up every single gift. We didn't get our traditional donut pile breakfast which was a bit of a disappointment but next year we will make sure that happens.
Family activity that we chose was to go bowling. I don't think we have ever taken the kids out bowling and didn't know how well they would do but we played one game and they all loved it and want to go back. Even Brooklyn was a little natural as pushing the ball off the ramp, it was the cutest thing!
After bowling we decided, what the heck lets go to a nickelcade with the kiddos and see how they do on the games since we love arcades. Andie surprised us on the claw games and was killer on it. I swear she won every single time and was providing plenty of tootsie rolls for her and the siblings. Jake was just having a blast on everything especially if he could have full control of the game hitting buttons over and over. Brooklyn just went with the flow and is always so cute.
After our nickels ran out from our ten dollars we got the kids prizes that they were able to help pick out. We then went to Golden Corral for a big feast of a dinner, the kids were in heaven. Of course we couldn't end the night without coming home for some cake. We had so much fun spending the whole day as a family! Happy Birthday Daddy, we love you so much! I hope you never forgot your Andie picked out pine cone birthday from Taylors place.
