FHE: Gingerbread Houses

We started by singing "Jingle Bells" (there is only so many Christmas songs the kids enjoy haha).

We then started watching a Christmas Video and honestly I just couldn't handle it this week and the kids were being very rambunctious and I gave up and just started playing Christmas songs off of YouTube and we went over towards the table and started making Gingerbread Houses.

We may not have felt the spirit in a Christmas video but the spirit was still there as the kids enjoyed making their houses and eating the icing and candy, can't get much better then that. I love how each of the kids decorated their own houses in their own style. Daddy helped Jake while I helped Andie and Brooklyn just ate lots of candy.

I loved how their houses turned out :)

December 16th - 25th

Our countdown to Christmas kind of ended after seeing the lights a temple square. We did things here and there but not everyday like the first half of the month. It would of been easier if I had everything prepared for each activity but I wasn't that good. Next year we'll do better with our family activity countdown. It was so much fun :)

December 12th - Rice Krispie Trees

December 12th we made some yummy rice krispie treats. We decided to add a few drops of green food coloring and some m&ms to make delicious trees, complete with little stars on top. Andie loved decorating her eatable tree :)

December 9th - Pipe Cleaner Trees

On December 9th we made pipe cleaner trees. We didn't really have anything planned, had some pipe cleaners and popsicle sticks laying around and decided heck why not make trees. Andie and Jake both enjoyed playing with pipe cleaners and bending them into different shapes.

December 8th - Caramel Apples

On the 8th day of our Christmas countdown we made some caramel apples. I haven't ever made these delicious fun looking apples before and it was a hit. Andie and Jake both loved the treats to add onto the caramel and eating them was extra special. I love how funny those two kids are :)
