FHE: Picnic in the Park

With our upcoming couples weekend we wanted to be able to spend lots of time with the kids in the week prior. Andie has been begging to go and ride bikes on this track with a picnic. We finally made that happen between some rainstorms, the rain has been crazy this spring. I am surprised how Jake and Brooklyn even with using there little legs to push their bikes made it around the track a time or two. I love spending this time with my kids! I think lots of picnics, bike rides, parks and of course feeding the birds is in store for us this summer. I love this little family of mine!

FHE: Gingerbread Houses

We started by singing "Jingle Bells" (there is only so many Christmas songs the kids enjoy haha).

We then started watching a Christmas Video and honestly I just couldn't handle it this week and the kids were being very rambunctious and I gave up and just started playing Christmas songs off of YouTube and we went over towards the table and started making Gingerbread Houses.

We may not have felt the spirit in a Christmas video but the spirit was still there as the kids enjoyed making their houses and eating the icing and candy, can't get much better then that. I love how each of the kids decorated their own houses in their own style. Daddy helped Jake while I helped Andie and Brooklyn just ate lots of candy.

I loved how their houses turned out :)

FHE: Light the World

We started by singing "Away in a Manager"

We then watched the new video countdown that has been going around about the Light the World. This is such a great idea and love the idea of having something spiritual each day to focus on as a countdown to Christmas.

We ended by talking about focusing on Jesus Christ this Christmas season and then of course by singing "Silent Night"

We then made cereal necklaces on some ribbon and the kiddos loved it. Brooklyn just ate some dry fruit loops, Andie made her own necklace all colorful and Jake made his necklace with Daddy's help and of course it was ALL RED. Family Home Evening is always so much fun :)
