Croup

This winter has been so bad for any colds/flus/sicknesses that come around. Sadly Andie, Jake and Brooklyn all got croup, it was horrid. Andie got it first and was miserable but still wanted to go to school. When she came home you could tell she was on her death bed. Poor girl wanted to lay down straight into Mom and Dads bed. Andie tried to sleep but wasn't able to breath. She was bark coughing and gasping for air :(

Mom started, of course, freaking out and I wanted to take her to a doctor because watching her grab her neck unable to breath is something that is VERY scary and no mother should ever have to go through that with her kids. I should of known to take her straight to the Hospital but instead I took her to the Instacare because it was the closest thing to me that could help.

At the Instacare they took her temperature and it was 105. They knew they would need to get the high temperature down and in that rush they wrote her weight down wrong, which later resulted in a miss dosed medications. Andie was miserable! She threw up when the doctor was examining her and it was red so they tested it for blood, negative thank goodness.

They wanted to call an ambulance to take Andie to Primary Childrens Hospital, BUT MONEY! They gave some medication they have to give prior to some breathing treatments. Did the breathing treatments and then gave some more medicine. Andie was doing better considering all that was happening but it could end up being that she was given larger doses of everything that she was supposed to have due to the weight being tripled what it was really meant to be.

Because of the overdosing that happened and some of the medications given they wanted Andie to be monitored for a few hours so we had to drive over to Primary Childrens Hospital. We were placed in a room for a few hours and the doctor popped in after what felt like FOREVER. They said "Andie was doing much better and it was probably because of the overdose how quickly she was recovering."

We were sent home to be followed up with our regular pediatrician. Andie was excused from school the rest of the week due to her being contagious. Since she was contagious of course Jake and Brooklyn ended up getting it. Brooklyn got it first so she ended up getting the croup medicine to help. Poor Jake toughed it out without medication and he lasted the longest, I should of taken him in I don't know what I was thinking. The poor kids will hopefully get better soon because I hate seeing them so miserable and there is nothing I can do for them. I love you all so much!

 Andie hated the medicine I had to mix up in the yogurt haha, sorry!
