Valentines Day 2018

Valentines Day, I don't know about you, but it seemed to sneak up on me quite quickly. Can you believe how fast this year is going already? I decided quite last minute to make some cookies with the kids and take them to Daddy. Zach had school all day and then was going to head straight to work. We weren't going to be able to see our handsome guy all day long and we wanted to change that. The kids loved making cookies, especially knowing we would be taking them to Dad. The heart we all put into those were so fun.

We met up with Daddy last minute at McDonalds and had dinner for 5 minutes together and gave the kids the traditional stuffed animal and chocolate from Mom and Dad. I never suspected the kids would all love their animals just that much. Andie was a bit bummed knowing that on Valentines Day she wouldn't get a toy but just an animal but even she LOVED IT! Jake is so happy with his teddy bear and he talks about how it is just like Mr. Beans haha.

Daddy of course rushed off to work and was a few minutes late but I think it was a well worth visit. We played until the kids were tired and ready for bed. I think it was a pretty fantastic Valentines Day and I spent it with the ones I love the most! Happy Valentines Day.

Poor Brooklyn

Brooklyn gave us quite the scare. Brooklyn woke up in the middle of the night with a barking cough so of course what do you think? I know I thought of croup. I have been on the mom train long enough to know it is croup and it did scare me because the last croup episode we had was Andie having to be rushed to the Instacare and then ER. Yeah that was a nightmare! Brooklyn suffered with her darn cough and being miserable on medication overload for a few days.

After awhile her cough went away, great! The bad thing is Brooklyn was still a mess and feeling miserable. Fever wasn't going away, she was puking up anything that entered her and she hadn't eaten or even drank anything for days. I was getting nervous at this point something else would be wrong.

Well after a week I decided enough is enough because she woke up and her stomach was so distended. At first I thought okay maybe she is constipated or something because that happens with her genetics. She hadn't eaten or drank anything for so long though so I was even extra nervous. I decided why not take her to the doctor but of course it was a Sunday so I couldn't go to her pediatrician doctor. The Instacare the last couple times I have taken kids into have messed up or told me my kids are healthy only to go to a second doctor and be told they are super sick. So I debated in my head for sometime and finally decided I would head to an ER.

Poor Brooklyn was miserable. We were in the ER all day long and she was given fluids, medicine and slept whole lot. I am glad Brooklyn got a day to really rest and relax with all of Moms attention because she doesn't get that at home with her brother and sister around. After all aren't Moms hugs the best medicine anyways? (at the ER they messed up on her birthday and we had to get that all straightened out)

Once we had Brooklyn looking better and more hydrated and actually keeping water down we took her home and Mom was ready to rush off to work. Thank goodness my boss decided I didn't need to go after all and I was able to come back home to my little girl who so desperately needed me. Now we hope Brooklyn continues on the mend and keeping liquids down at least. I love you my princess!

Brooklyn 2 Years 3 Months

Brooklyn Riley my baby girl your growing far to quickly. You my princess are the best thing that has happened to our family. You have a personality that you get along with anyone whether it is building Lego and playing cars with Jake or even coloring to your hearts content or playing barbies with Andie. Brooklyn is our perfect little happy medium little girl and we love you. Brooklyn at 2 years 3 months old...

1. Brooklyn thinks that slippers are the best thing ever. Brooklyn is our little winter baby who loves to stay warm at all times. I have mentioned before that sweaters and leggings are Brooklyn's favorite but I don't know if I have mentioned her slippers. Brooklyn always chooses to wear her slippers if she has a choice even to church. She is in nursery so I let it pass haha.

2. Brooklyn loves swimming. Brooklyn has always been a little bit hesitant since it comes to water, she is usually clinging to Mom and very rarely she will cling to Daddy. Brooklyn has been this way since she was a baby. Now that we are going swimming more often this little girl has warmed up and actually becoming quite independent. Brooklyn likes to wear life jackets and tried to go off on her own into the deep waters and yes this girl gives me so many heart attacks because of her independence.

3. Brooklyn is picky with her clothes. Brooklyn has always been our little fashionista and loves picking out her won clothes. Each and everyday Brooklyn will take time picking out her perfect outfit and flowers in her hair to match. I love how my girl is so girly!

4. Brooklyn is very independent. Brooklyn's favorite thing to say is, "I do it". It's no hidden secret that my girl is very independent and always has been. Brooklyn is literally 2 going on 15. Everything that has been shown to Brooklyn once she HAS to do it on her own the next go around. This is such a hard thing for me because I am such a paranoid protective mother so Brooklyn's independence is probably one of my biggest trials. I love you girl!

5. Brooklyn went sledding. Brooklyn had the time of her life playing in the snow with the family. We all went sledding and of course can you guess who wanted to go down the hill on her own? Brooklyn my little independent princess always wanted to go down by herself and loves the flying bumps at the end. Snow is the best thing ever and experiencing it for the first time I think this girl was in snow eating, playing heaven.

6. Brooklyn is my little cook. Brooklyn loves to play in the playhouse with the fake food. Brooklyn will take request from her family members and then go to the playhouse and start cooking away to then bring us our food. Brooklyn is the best little mommy ever! I need to get some food that Brooklyn can actually cut up I think that would make this girl in heaven.

7. Brooklyn sleeps in the most random places. Since we have cut out naps Brooklyn goes through stages of all of the sudden being to tired and giving herself a nap. Lately poor girl has been falling asleep wherever she might be playing. I have caught her asleep in the playhouse, half way off a couch or chair, in the hallway or random peoples beds. I love my very tired cute girl!

8. Brooklyn is popcorn obsessed. Brooklyn loves being able to sit up on the couch with a bowl of popcorn and a good movie. I think this little girl must be related to her movie loving parents haha. Brooklyn when asked what to eat, for any meal, always will excitedly state POPCORN!

My girl you are such a joy to be around. Your Dad and I just stare at you realizing what a miracle you are to us! Whenever I look at your perfect little cute face I can't help but smile because your just so dang adorable. Your stinking little smile and your precious little laugh. I love you so much baby girl, so much!

Andie 5 Years 8 Months

Andie Noelle my goodness girl you just keep growing up on me! Andie you have a love for life and everyone around you. I have never seen someone love people more then you do even when you claim boys have cooties haha. Andie my girl at 5 years 8 months old...

1. Andie started swim lessons. Andie has become swimming obsessed, the water is a family favorite. Andie was given the choice to start dance lessons or swim lessons. This was probably the hardest decision of her whole entire life thus far. Andie after a major struggle of back an forth decided to do swimming lessons first. Andie has loved learning how to swim an watching her get more and more comfortable in the water makes me so proud but also SO VERY NERVOUS!

2. Andie went sledding for the first time. Andie has always had a love for snow and building snowman's. One of these winters I am going to take the kids to Canada and experience that amazing snowiness there. We finally went out and bought all the snow gear we needed and had the best snow day. Andie didn't want to stop sledding and could go up and down that giant hill all day long. We love the snow and hope we get another sledding day soon.

3. Andie said goodbye to her Uncle who will be serving a mission. Andie has loved being able to have two of her Uncles living in the same house as her for the past year. She was able to get to close to her Uncles. Nathan left for his mission and Andie is so worried about him leaving for two whole years. I can't believe when he gets back Andie will be 7.5 years old, wow!

4. Andie loves drawing. YouTube is the greatest thing ever and I wish that I had that availability to it when I was younger. My kids usually will use YouTube to there advancement. Andie has recently been using it for tutorials on how to draw. Andie is my little creative artist and we have always known that but with her art classes from YouTube its the best thing ever. Great job Andie!

5. Andie tumbled in her flip flops. After swim lessons one day Andie got so excited she started running to the van and might of tripped and fell down. Poor girl scrapped up her face pretty good and I am hoping it won't turn into a black eye. Now the flip flops will be retired for a little bit because Andie is too scared to wear them again haha.

6. Andie loves giraffes. Andie still has a favorite animal and it is giraffes of all animals. If I have learned anything its that your kids will love whatever they are around. I wish I stuck with the animal theme with all the kids. Andie had a giraffe animal theme and I always tried to stick with that and now she loves giraffes, because she was around them all the time haha.

7. Andie loves her green bear. Andie got a little green bear from a dental appointment awhile ago and she loves that thing. Andie sleeps with it at night all the time and goes through on and off stages of having it nightly and switching for a different stuffed animal. That little green bear she has made a place in the Wadsworth home.

8. Andie is a worry bug. Andie is worried about Mom dying for some reason lately, I think she has my anxiety haha. I told Andie that I won't die soon I promise. Andie then turns around and looks at me and states, "What are you going to eat right?" I busted out laughing because amen little sister Mommy does need to eat right. There you go keeping Mom on the right track throughout my life, this is why Andie is my oldest! I love you!

Andie my girl you are the sweetest little thing. You and I are great friends and I love that we can have such a strong relationship. Andie when I was younger and dreamt of being a Mom I always dreamed of having a little girl that I could love and be best friends with. Andie you have exceeded all of my dreams. You are the most perfect girl and are a blessing sent to me that I will be thankful for each and every single day. I love you so much my Andie girl!

Stake Conference

We had a lucky opportunity where the new prophet happened to show up to our Stake Conference. Ours? What? The excitement in the air is only a sliver of what I feel the 2nd coming will feel like and that made me so excited for the world to come. The church is truly an amazing thing! My family happened to be in all the photos from the news even if you only slightly see some. Here is a copy of the News Report :

President Russell M. Nelson delivered a unifying message at Sunday’s Stake Conference:
“We’re all in this together.”
Just weeks after being set apart as the Church’s 17th president, the veteran Church leader said he’s already experiencing unforgettable moments:
“You’ve made marvelous memories for Sister (Wendy W.) Nelson and me,” said President Nelson as he looked across the vast congregation gathered at the stake center.
His message of togetherness resonated with the Granger West Stake members who were thrilled to be joined Sunday by President and Sister Nelson.
“I’ve concluded it really doesn’t matter much what your calling is in the Church, as long as you are doing it well,” he said. “Your work and your calling are just as important as my work and my calling.”
Life is often defined by the unexpected. So it’s essential, he said, “to be prepared.”
President Nelson spoke of Elder Von G. Keetch, a General Authority Seventy who died on Jan. 26, just 10 days after helping coordinate the worldwide broadcast announcing the new First Presidency.
“He was suddenly called home. I spoke at his funeral on Friday.”
Elder Keetch’s unexpected passing is a reminder of mortality’s uncertainties.
“We need to prepare,” said President Nelson. “We need to know that we are ready to meet our Maker, whenever that day may come.”
In their separate remarks, the Nelsons recounted a question that was once posed by a nurse to Dr. Russell M. Nelson after he performed a difficult surgery: “Why are you not like other surgeons?”
Some surgeons, the nurse knew well, could be short-tempered and profane as they performed their pressure-filled duties. Dr. Nelson’s reply: “Because I know the Book of Mormon is true.”
That answer prompted the nurse and her own surgeon-husband to study the Book of Mormon. President Nelson later baptized the nurse.
Decades passed and President Nelson lost contact with the couple. The husband later died and his wife eventually remarried. While presiding over a stake conference in Tennessee shortly after being called to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, President Nelson enjoyed an unexpected reunion with the nurse who, years earlier, had asked why he was not like some of his colleagues.
That woman’s conversion, brought about by the influence of the Book of Mormon, brought about the conversion of 80 more people, said President Nelson.

On another occasion, President Nelson said he was on an assignment in Ghana when he was introduced to a tribal king. He explained to the handsome king that he was an apostle of Jesus Christ and that the Book of Mormon offered an account of the resurrected Christ and His ministry in the Americas.
He then offered the king a copy of the Book of Mormon. He won’t ever forget the king’s response: “You could give me diamonds or rubies, and that would not be nearly as precious to me as additional knowledge about the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Members of the Granger West Stake have “missionary opportunities galore,” he said. They live in the heartland of the Church and in a community enriched by cultural diversity. There will be many opportunities to share the Book of Mormon and the gospel of Christ.
“So be ready,” he said. “Be ready to explain the Church.”
President Nelson said the saving doctrine of the Atonement is fully revealed in the Book of Mormon. Because of the Atonement, a person who is obedient to the Lord’s commandments and enters into sacred covenants “can qualify for the greatest of all blessings — eternal life.”
Eschew pornography, be a good example and “rejoice in the joy of the gospel.”
President and Sister Nelson visited the Keetch family a short time after Elder Keetch’s death. The Keetch home was filled with peace and faith even at a moment of grief and mourning. Strength was found in prayers and priesthood blessings.
It was like being in a temple — “a holy nest to the Lord.”
Make “your own homes” holy nests to the Lord, counseled President Nelson.
He concluded by bestowing an apostolic blessing that the Granger West Stake members would be good examples; focusing their lives on the temple and the Lord.
In her remarks, Sister Nelson testified of the essential, guiding role the Book of Mormon could play in every aspect of life. All can offer the same answer once offered by Dr. Nelson: “Because I know the Book of Mormon is true.”
Questions to Latter-day Saints about why they pay tithing, or help others, or attend multiple Church meetings, or dress modestly, or avoid drugs or alcohol can all be answered with the same reply.
“Because I know the Book of Mormon is true.”
She encouraged the members to discuss that proven “answer” in their own family home evenings and other gatherings.
“Have heart-to-heart conversations about what you know to be true,” she said, adding members can enjoy sweet peace as they involve the Book of Mormon in their day-to-day lives.
Sister Nelson also saluted the Granger West Stake members for their commitment to family history work and missionary work. Many are eagerly anticipating the fast approaching rededication of the Jordan River Utah Temple, their “home” temple.
Granger West Stake President Duane R. Kendell encouraged the members to focus on Christ by simplifying their personal lives and their family priorities. Simplifying service to others will also result in many being rescued.
Other talks or testimonies Sunday were offered by recently returned missionary Franchessca Panoussi; local priesthood leader Mark Santini and his mother, Ann Santini; and President Bruce Clark of the Jordan River Utah Temple presidency and his wife, Sister Glenys Clark, an assistant to the temple matron.
