Jake 4 Years 4 Months

Jake Oliver my boy your four years and four months old. I don't know where the time is going. You are so adventurous and I don't see that stopping in the future anytime soon even if that means losing you at the beach again, we just won't go back for forever haha. This past month at 4 years 4 months...

1. Jake got a new Aunt. One of Jakes Uncles got married and we love our new Aunt. Jake is slowly warming up to Dallin and maybe one day he won't be scared of other people haha. What can I say the kids take after me on their shy personality. Jake did have fun running the halls at the reception and eating cake of course so I think it was a major hit, plus he had all his boy cousins in town so he was in heaven.

2. Jake watched fireworks. Each year I try and attempt to have the kids watch the fireworks with hopes they will magically one day enjoy them. I think we are finally getting close with Jake as he seemed somewhat okay with them but still did say they were loud still and had to wear his "ear pumps". Baby steps, I will take them.

3. Jake thinks cars are the coolest. Jake has always had a thing for cars, especially for red McQueen ones of course. Well his little dreams came true when he saw a tiny little red mini McQueen at the Aquarium one day. He of course wanted a picture so he could always remember it but got thinking about the engine and how the car works and was super excited about the tiny little engine. He wanted me to pop the hood so he could see it but I told him we weren't able, poor kid!

4. Jake is talking clearer and to people a bit. With being able to hear more and understand clearer all the amazing things my little boy says I need to document his funny sayings better. On July 4th we were watching the fireworks and Jake decided he was hungry and wanted a snack. He was riding his tricycle around and stopped suddenly and stated, "I want a snack" he immediately gets off and opens the back of the tricycle in which he has a vine of grapes. How and when he put those in there I do not know. Don't worry though they were cold still so it was recently just secretly without me knowing when haha, magic!
Another funny thing but inappropriate but I have to document is he stated his poop was broken one day because he had really bad diarrhea haha (he was sick and throwing up the night before) it was so funny but oh so sad all at the same time.
One more thing from this past month I remember is on the way home from our family vacation we stopped to fill up the van with gas in Las Vegas. Jake was adamant that if we filled up in the "bad guy world" the van would get so sick from their gas and break. Well I guess he was partially right because the radiator went out on the van and had to be fixed when back home.

5. Jake went to Disneyland. Of course like always he had an amazing time at his favorite vacation spot and lived out his dream. Jakes favorite rides were of course anything in Cars Land like McQueen and Mater ride he also stated he liked Maleficent's castle and was so brave on Splash Mountain for the first time! Plus how could we forget the basic favorites of buzz lightyear rides and It's a small world. Plus Jake got his face painted for the first time ever and truly loved his space obsession on his face!

6. Jake is a wateraholic. Since Jake is so obsessed with water of course he thinks it is life which means anything involving water down to the bathroom sink. I am serious haha pools, splash pads, beach, anything! With this love when we went to St. George to the Splash Pad at the Thunder Junction Jake was in pure heaven and NEVER wanted to leave. We will have to take Jake back again because my he was having the time of his life soaking his clothes in water.

7. Jake got lost at the beach. Yes Jake gave his mother the scare of my life! One minute I was talking to Jake on a bench and the next thing I know he was gone. I was a mess searching everywhere for him. Within five minutes of Jake missing I had called 9-1-1 and had police on land, sea, beach, air, random people, everyone looking for Jake. I am so glad that everyone took the time to look for you my boy because I was thinking the worst that you would be gone forever. This was the worst hour of my life as I pictured life without you and my world was literally crashing down around me. When the police found you head under water in the ocean and brought you back to the playground area a kind lady ran towards me telling me you were found. Hearing those words were the best ever! My goodness boy don't you EVER do that to me again, you never allowed out of my arms again.

8. Jake is getting along with sisters. I don't know if it was the big scare at the beach or the family vacation or just the fact it is summer but either way my kids are getting along. Andie and Jake have a hard time getting along because Andie is in that boys have cooties stage. Jake is actually having the patients and Andie is choosing to be kind to her brother. It is amazing to see the love you siblings all have for each other and I hope that never changes!

9. Jake has a friend at free lunch. Free lunch in the park is like a standard open passage to say it is summer. This year has been no different but Jake does have a little buddy which is so cute to watch him run around with. Tye is this cute little buddy that has tons of energy just like Jake and loves running around with my crazy kiddo and its the best. The only downside about lunch this year is the darn bees are HORRID!

Jake Oliver you my boy are growing up far to quickly and have the energy to outlast anyone I know. You scare the crap out of me when you get these crazy ideas in your head to run off at the beach, okay this is the first AND LAST PLEASE of you running off away from us out of our sight, but you sure know how to keep us on our toes. I love you my boy always and forever! I never want to lose you, I would never be able to handle my life without your energetic love keeping me going!
