Winter Updates

Since I am so far behind on the blog I have decided to mix up the order of events that have happened and just give a bullet post of things happening in our home.
  • Back in November we got a recall for our red car that we had to take in and get fixed. I guess there could be glass in the airbags and if they went off that would be deathly, obviously! We took it in to the dealership to get fixed up and Jake discovered that vehicles can be INSIDE buildings. Jakes little mind was blown.
  • Beginning of the New Year Mom started working PRN instead of full time (just Sunday nights). This has been a decision that we have tossed back and forth and REALLY struggled with. We didn't know what would happen with my job on if I would stay, go completely, stay on full time, go part time or what. This was so stressful the last few months as we decided what our future would hold.
  • Daddy started his second semester in the Rad Tech program. One of the things we found with the program is that Zach is VERY BUSY! Each week he is working anywhere from 5-6 evenings doing 6 hour shifts. During the day he is during 3 different long clinical shifts. He has a day he goes out to school classes all day, an hours drive away. The commute alone each week easily takes up 10 hours of his week. To then try and stuff in quality time with his wife and kids, church, callings PLUS don't forget all the homework. Yup Zach is BUSY!
  • My brother Nathan got his mission call to Cambodia. We had family come in to town for his Endowments through the Bountiful temple. It was such a neat experience to have a much younger sibling go through the temple, wow I am getting old. Nathan entered the MTC end of January. Lucky him the day before a stomach bug got into our house and he was one of the ones who was able to experience that. Jake and Daddy also got it, it decided to keep with the boys!
  • Swimming Fridays have become a thing and the kids are loving it. Brooklyn is getting a little to comfortable in the water since she is Miss Independent, her favorite part of swimming is definitely the ducky slide. Jake is LOVING splashing in the water and just wants to be able to wander off on his own without anyone else around either, gives Mom a heart attack. Andie is anxious to learn how to swim so she can do anything she wants in the water. This brings me to my next bullet...
  • Andie started swimming lessons. Starfish is the beginning class every kid has to take and pass before they can move on up to other levels. Andie was so excited to begin her swimming class and boy does it make Mom nervous. I have to admit though Andie is very comfortable in the water now, jumps off the edges into the water, doesn't plug her nose half the time (Mom can't even do that haha), wears goggles like a freaking pro. Andie is able to place her head under the water for longer then I like her too and she is well on her way to becoming a better swimmer then my doggy paddling self.
  • I started doing the curly girl method because my hair has been so dry lately that its been driving me bonkers. I know ultimately what I need to do is chop it all off but I really don't want to do that. I am also losing hair like crazy (thanks health problems) and I am really hoping it will help. It sucks having so many health problems that take so much away from you gah.
  • I don't even know what to say about this but we are still not pregnant. We don't have many answers on why I just have recurrent miscarriages and can't seem to keep a 4th baby. I have done 6 rounds of femara and have seen some other doctors/specialists now and have a lot of decision making to do about our future. I think we might go forward with lots of tests to see whats going on but it's nerve wracking because it's a lot of money even with health coverage. I guess time will tell.

I know, I know our life is so exciting....haha. I decided it would be better to read our family posts in one rather then bore with tons of random posts. Who am I kidding I love my family life, struggles and all!

Snow Day

We finally had a descent snow day and Mom and Dad were both available to go and play! We got some snow gear together and went out for a few hours to freeze but we had so much more fun that we didn't mind :) First time sledding for all the kids and I think it was a win!
