December Doctors

Once again Andie and I had a busy Friday running all our errands and going to our appointments. I was exhausted by the end of the day and ready for bed.

Andie had her 18 month check up with her pediatrician. She is growing like a weed. They had her stand on the big kid scale this time to weigh herself. She weighed 23 pounds. I was very surprised since she weighs 21 pounds at home when I weigh her all the time. Her percentile the last few appointments has been 10% and has now jumped to 30%. She measured 32 inches tall putting her at 70% for her height. Her head measurement was 85%. She has a Redd head for sure :)

Andie got her last shot (besides flu shots every year) before her kindergarten shots. That makes me realize how fast time really is going! When her appointment was done Andie got a little purple ball for doing so good. She loves that ball! I was a little surprised to know her next appointment is in June and I can't schedule that until I can schedule Jake's with her. 2 year old and a 3 month old, time needs to slow down.

After Andie's appointment I dropped her off at my Moms and headed on to my 26 week doctor appointment. Everything is looking good on me and Jake. Jake is measuring a week ahead on my belly measurement, no wonder I feel huge. I also gained my pound I was ordered too. I knew Thanksgiving and my birthday would help with that. I am still over 10 pounds below my prepregnancy weight. I hope I don't gain much but more importantly I hope Jake continues to grow strong and healthy.

It's always fun to go to the doctor (not) and run all my errands and do my appointments in one day. The sooner I get those done the sooner I get to relax and enjoy my weekend. It's crazy how fast time is going. It's going to be 2014 in a blink of an eye!

Cabin Weekend

I admit I was a little nervous about a cabin get away. Not because a cabin is in the mountains, not because it's cold, not because I didn't need a vacation (because I did). I was nervous because after 7 years of being with my husband I haven't spent this much time with Zachary's family. Is that weird? Don't get me wrong I love my second family but I was still nervous (call me crazy).

It was so nice to get away for two nights. I was planning on taking so many pictures but I got like 10 max. We enjoyed our time together with Zachary's family. We played lots of games, had tons of yummy food and laughed more then we thought we could. It was a fantastic weekend and we can't wait to make it a tradition and go again next year :)

Andie 1 Year 6 Months

18 months! 1 year 6 months! There is not a way to make this not feel so old. Andie is growing in leaps and bounds. Everyday she is learning something new and making me so proud to be her mom. I never looked at an 18 month and realized how smart they really are, it's amazing. At 1 year 6 months Andie is...

1. Andie is constantly singing. Andie has always had a love for music like her parents but this past month she has started to sing to songs on the radio. I assume she had to learn car singing from someone sometime, so why not her mom. We will have the radio on and the whole time Andie is babbling away in the backseat singing the songs. I love her!

2. Andie has been sick and teething again this month with temps as high as 102. I was correct about her teething! 15 teeth are starting to all poke through her gums with a few more bumps ready to come in. She has a full set of teeth, how did that happen?

3. Andie has 12 cousins so far ranging from 9 to 1. It's so fun to have all these cousins that she can play with. In July 2014 she will be adding 2 more friends to her cousin list. We are so excited to meet the new additions!

4. Andie loves to dress up. We are constantly changing her from one set of clothing to the next. Andie knows where all her clothes are put away. Throughout the day she brings us out different clothes to change in to. Pajamas, shirts, coats, Dads ties, skirts and shoes. Nothing stands in this girls way from getting dressed up!

5. Andie loves going to Grandma Redds house and Aunt Kari's. I have the best family who have stepped up and watched Andie for me while I have been working. Andie almost doesn't even phase when I leave her when I go to work, this makes it so much easier for me! I love picking her up from being babysat as she shows me the new toys she has been playing with that day and babbles and tells me all about her day. Andie is such a little talker :)

6. Andie has learned how to say Thank You. It's so cute listening for those sweet words to come out of her mouth. She is still learning the concept of when she gives me something that she doesn't say thank you but I do. We are getting it straightened out. I have one polite happy girl! Andie says Thank you, Ta-daa, Eat, Mom, Dad, Andie, Hi, Hello, Bye, Yes, No, Ariel, Baby, Ouch and so much more!

7. Andie is getting better at using utensils. She can use them but still makes quite a big mess while eating. I should let her try more with a cup but I just hesitate because of the aftermath. I know I should just let her go crazy. Our goal this next month is to get better at using a regular cup like she has with her utensils. We haven't had any forks for her so we finally bought her some small ones. She loves them!

8. Andie celebrated Thanksgiving again this past month for the States. I loved having her wear her turkey shirt to each dinner we were invited too. Her favorite food this Thanksgiving was the pies and jello or marshmallow salads. I would say she has a bit of a sweet tooth ;) It's fun watching Andie at each family get together have no fear and go out and have fun. Andie has such an outgoing personality.

Andie is such a bundle of joy to raise. She never allows for a day to be boring. Andie always has me laughing and smiling, there is no break with her. I love being Andies mom! Each day is such a special blessing to be able to raise her. I love her little life and have such big plans for her future. I definitely have an amazing spirit on my hands :)

Redd Thanksgiving

Friday was our second Thanksgiving feast with my Moms side of the family. It was nice to talk with all my siblings, I love them!

Dinner was delicious like usual and company is always great when you are around family. It's fun getting to catch up with different family members face to face instead of through Facebook, text message or phone call.

My siblings and I played some basketball after we ate to burn off some calories. Let me just tell you one thing about this game. Get a bunch of the worst athletic skilled people in a gym and you get a game of pig to last over an hour long :) It was so much fun!

I am so thankful for all my siblings and my parents. I am so thankful for the friendships that have formed over the years! My siblings make the best of friends :)

Thanksgiving 2013

Thanksgiving is always so much fun! Family, Food and Laughing are my favorite things and that's what this time of year is about.

This year is the first year we have gotten our own turkey (thanks to Zachary's work). Now the challenge will be trying to cook it!

Zachary, Andie and I didn't do much on Thanksgiving. We just wanted to relax as a family enjoying the opportunity of being home together! We watched Disney movies, made Andie laugh, played with her toys and had a lot of fun. I spaced the cooking a meal part, so we will save the turkey for Christmas!

I am so thankful for my family I am creating. Spending time with the two who love me unconditionally makes this one of the best Thanksgivings. Zachary and Andie are such a blessing in my life. I am very thankful for my extended family too. My parents and siblings are always there for me and my family. I am blessed to be apart of such an amazing family, I am so thankful for them!

23 Years Old

My day started out like any other work day. Rushing to get ready and head off to work as fast as I can running out the door (okay I usually don't have to rush that fast I just over slept today).
My coworkers are all so sweet. We were all excited that we would be able to leave work early when all was done plus it's a Friday (technically) which meant everyone was in a good mood (everyone is in a good mood everyday haha). We got donuts for breakfast and they bought me a cake. How sweet is my work?

My Dad had an appointment with one of the doctors which meant he was there for my lunch break. I had a special lunch with my father, just him and I. I don't even know if that has ever happened before in my life. It was so nice to get that one on one time with my Dad on my birthday!

We got out of work 2 hours early and I excitedly headed home to be with my husband and little girl. My husband knows me so well, which I guess after 7 years he should right? I told him I didn't want any presents this year. Zach made me dinner which was ready when I got home. Biscuits and gravy :) I love that stuff!

Zachary and Andie bought me a cake and a card. Then we cuddled up as a family and watched planes (if you knew my love for cars you won't think this is weird at all). We will be watching Frozen sometime this weekend also, we love Disney! I had a perfect relaxing evening spending time with my family. That's all any 23 year old could ask for right? I can tell this will be a good year for me :)

Wadsworth Thanksgiving

Sunday we had our first celebration for the States Thanksgiving. It's a week long celebration when your married. I sadly didn't take many pictures to capture our fun times.
Colin, Zachs Dad, and Beth, Zachs step-mom, had a delicious Thanksgiving dinner for us all. It's good to be able to spend time with Zachs side of the family since we don't get to as often as mine.

Beth, Colin and all of Zachs siblings are so fun to talk to. We even had a special pregnancy announcement to add to the excitement :)
What a fun dinner we had to celebrate the start of a great week. Congrats once again Brittany!

Jakes Ultrasound

I went to Doctor Yamashiro for my 22 week appointment on Friday November 15th. I still haven't gained any weight which I don't mind ;) I was jokingly told that I am not on a 9 month diet, I love my doctor.

I went in for my 2nd ultrasound today, November 25th, to check on Jake's heart. I have never been so excited in my entire life to hear that he had a 4 chamber heart! After I heard those words I knew everything would be ok on my little man. One of his arteries to his heart is a little small but that is fixable if it is a problem in the future. We go back in for a 28 week ultrasound at the end of the year.

Jake was measuring tall with a small head just like Andie was at this time. Overall he is measuring a little small but I don't mind little small babies. After all Andie has a big head now, last appointment she was in the 80%. Jake weighed in at approximately 1 pound 4 ounces and looks so much like his older sister. I am so thankful that my little guy is healthy. Keep growing strong and know that I love you! :)

West Side Story

Have you ever heard of West Side Story? It seems everyone has but me. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I went to my brother and sisters play this year!

Fantastic job Jordan and Emmalee. I always love watching you two perform! I am glad I watched you instead of the movie ;)

The story line wasn't bad just some very confusing parts that I didn't understand. Like how could 2 people fall head over heels in love in one day? Would you marry someone after one day of knowing them AND they killed a family member? Why would the cops let the gang carry the body away at the end? Yes what a confusing storyline "West Side Story" is.

Congrats Jordan and Emmalee you did a wonderful job! I can't believe that was your last play before your out of high school Jordan. Everyday I am amazed by your dancing Emmalee. I love you two and good job once again :)

Andie 1 Year 5 Months

Andie is 17 months old and I don't even know how that happened. I blinked and the time just disappeared. Every day I look at my little girl and realize she is not so little any more. I am in shock! At 1 year and 5 months...

1. Andie is running all over the place! She has the energy level of 5 kids combined into one tiny human body. With all that energy there is no other option but to run, ALL OVER! Andies favorite place is to explore the great outdoors or any large building, bigger the better right? Andie will pull on our fingers and lead is any where and everywhere she wants to go. Andie never stops and I love it!

2. Andie has been sick a couple of times. I think most of it is due to teething! Andie still has the four front teeth on top and four front teeth on bottom. No teeth have grown in since, not even her year molars. I am sure we will see more pearly whites pop up in the next month! Andie is wearing size 18 month clothes mostly, wears size 3 diapers and is still a small 20 pounder.

3. Andie has become a picky eater this past month. I don't mind it because who doesn't love fruit, pasta and junk food. Yes that has been our diet lately! We are getting sick of some of the same foods but fruit never fails us. I worry that Andie is so skinny but she is growing like a champ still. 32 inches at her last WIC appointment.

4. Andie has discovered spinning in circles. She will stand in the middle of a room and then just start spinning. I think it is so cute how she will try to walk after spinning for quite sometime. That is probably why we have discovered a few more bruises on her then usual. Andie is so funny, I love her!

5. Andie has a love for coloring! She will color all day long. Colouring books, notebooks, Dads school books, dishwasher, walls and scriptures. Nothing is safe if Andie has a coloring device in her hand. I love watching her be so creative and concentrate on every drawing. She reminds me so much of myself!

6. Andie is getting a little brother. I don't know if she is thrilled about this or not! She has discovered my stomach is getting bigger and is not very comfy to lay on. She will get so confused and try to lift up my shirt to see what I must be hiding in my belly, silly girl! Zachary and I have been trying to teach Andie how to say Jake. So far we have accomplished "J-J". So we will have little brother JJ coming in March :)

7. Andie has always been such a good helper when it comes to cleaning. She has discovered that whenever we change her diaper she has a fun task to do after. Andie anxiously waits for me to put her pants back on before running away with the diaper to the diaper pail. She loves throwing her diapers away (and I don't mind). Zachary and I are getting excited to start potty training at the beginning of the year, hopefully that goes over smoothly!

8. Andie loves pianos. I think with Andie being watched by my amazing mother the past 3 months while I have been working, she has discovered the big piano at the Grandparents house. Every day when I drop her off with Grandma Redd she climbs up onto the piano bench and starts banging away. Zachary and I have found iPhone apps and iPad apps that are like a piano keyboard you can play and she loves them! Pianos and music we will have a popstar on our hands before long!

9. Andie celebrated her 2nd Halloween and 2nd Canadian Thanksgiving. I love the holidays but having kids around makes the holidays that much more special. Watching Andies eyes light up when she was able to pick her own candy out of the trick or treat bowls and watching Andie handing out her candy to other little kids was the highlight of my Halloweens thus far :)

What a difference a year makes!

Andie is such a fun loving girl. Her personality is so outgoing and lovable. I am so blessed to be able to watch her grow and be her mother. Andie is such a special spirit and you can feel it every time you are around her. I love my Andie and all her fun crazy personality that comes with her :)
