Drive to St.George

We decided to split up our drive home this trip which was a perfect idea. We packed up the van and headed on our way to St. George, of course not without pictures of our hotel room from the week. As we were driving we knew something was wrong with our van because it struggled going up the hills in the mountains so the drive took a bit longer then we had expected, good thing we split the trip up. We filled up with some gas in Las Vegas and the kids called it the "Bad guy world". Jake insisted we continue on without gas to the next city because the van would get very sick if we filled up with Las Vegas gas haha it was hilarious.

Once we got to the hotel we were all so excited to stretch our legs out and explore our new room. Our excitement was cut a bit short when within less then two minutes of being in our hotel room the people below us was smacking hard on the ceiling. We told the kids to be quiet but that didn't help this angry old man as he continued to smack on the ceiling. This wasn't an ordinary bang either it was fist pounding HARD for a good minute or two each time. It scared the kids and even scared me. Next thing we know we hear the same pounding on our hotel door. Can you believe that? We literally had been in the hotel room less then 5 minutes at this point. I swung open the door and immediately yelled to please stop. This guy went off on a rant how I was a horrible mother and Zach a horrible father and so I slammed the door on his face. We all felt a little bit threatened and like our experience was ruined already. We weren't even planning on staying in the hotel room long we were just going to all use the restroom and then leave to play at the playgrounds at the hotel.

After our scare experience and losing Jake at the beach and our miscarriage at this point I was just thrown over the edge. I decided I would go talk to the front desk and ask if we could be moved because we did not feel safe. They upgraded us for free and switched us and said they had heard from the angry guy too. So even if we felt like the grumpy man won we knew it is what we had to do to protect our family.

Once we had our new room in a separate building we went on to have fun and played in the playground with the ballpit, the kids were loving it. We even decided to end the night with some swimming in the dark under the stars, it was perfect. We spent most our time in their little wadding pool, it is the neatest! I think we will definitely be back to this hotel sometime in the future and hopefully we don't start out the stay with an angry man.
