Family Outings

I love my little family. Spending time together and making memories is so precious. How wonderful life is! I am so lucky to have my husband, daughter and son :) We spent two different nights this week going out as a family - eating and playing! We all had so much fun...

Outing #1 - Red Robin

Outing #2 - Mall Adventure

Jake was having really bad diarrhea from switching formulas. We changed his diaper and he sprayed the changing table, floor, diaper bag and walls. There was poop everywhere - yummy!

Andie patiently waited as we cleaned up the bathroom the best we could from Jakes explosion :)

Allergies

Monday morning I called the Pediatrician and told him about Jake. Jake has been giving me such a heart attack with worry since his 20 week ultrasound. This time it is not about his heart or lungs, but allergies (we assume).

Jake has been projectile vomiting up his bottles (seriously the whole thing). It's gotten worse and worse over the last couple weeks. I was told to bring Jake in for an appointment that day.

At the appointment Jake was looked over and weighed. He is a healthy boy at 10 pounds 15 ounces! There was nothing that showed a warning on what was going on.

The conclusion finally came to switch formulas. Jake is lactose intolerant! We switched him over to soy formula on a test run. If soy didn't work we would move to spit up formula, which Jake had nothing to do with (he wouldn't eat any of it) so we switched back to soy (4th type of formula he has been on). Jake is also on some meds to help with what may be really bad acid reflux.

One week later and Jake is finally starting to keep the soy down more. All week I have been concerned about dehydration. Jake has been spitting up everything and exploding down at the other end, poor little guy. Let's hope we can continue to see improvement and stop all these trials in our way of a healthy happy baby boy!

Easter 2014

We started out the day doing some laundry to get our church clothes clean, I procrastinated until last minute. I cleaned the house and bathed the kids and by the time we were ready for church Andie broke out into a temper tantrum. My amazing start to my day crashed and I decided church was not happening today. I know I am horrible!

We broke out an Easter basket after Andie calmed down for a bit. Andie got nail polish, monster socks and princess chapstick. All afternoon Andie rubbed the chapstick all over her lips. I don't think it is possible to even have a dry spot on her lips now. She loves them!

I took some photos of Jake and Andie for the Easter photo shoot. It is hard to do photo shoots with a toddler. I have given up the last few holidays but totally want to start the tradition back up. Its so cute to have their photos to look back on.

Dinner time rolled around so we headed next door to my parents house (yes I live right next door to them). We had a delicious meal with family, played fun board games and had an Easter egg hunt. It was such a fun filled night until Jake decided it would be fun to spit up all over Mom. He drenched my hair and shirt, his blanket and clothes. I think tomorrow it is time to call the doctor! What a fun way to end our Easter celebrations ;)

Earthquake

I guess there was an earthquake Saturday night. I was playing an epic game of Jenga, 24 layers high and zero moves left. I felt nothing from the earthquake! Our Jenga tower did not fall down.

Everyone on Facebook was freaking out and I had no idea why. A friend posted this picture about the earthquake, I laughed pretty hard! Lets hope a real big earthquake never comes to the valley in my life. That stuff is to darn scary!

Alivia's Party

Another niece celebrated her birthday. Happy Birthday Alivia! Your 4 years old and growing so fast. What a beautiful young woman you are turning out to be.

We celebrated Alivias birthday at Boondocks in Kaysville. I haven't been to that Boondocks before and it was definitely awesome. Andie loved the little merry-go-round and the ginormous ball drop arcade game (just like her parents).

With our tickets Andie got a tiara, bubble necklace in the shape of a fish (she thinks it's a fish off of The Little Mermaid) and a slinky. Andie had so much at the party. Happy Birthday Alivia, we love you!

Jake 1 Month

Jake Oliver is one month already? This past month has flown, at least since he has been out of the hospital. I forgot how tiring it is to get up in the middle of the night, but seeing Jakes big eyes looking up at me is the best feeling. I wouldn't change the past month for anything! At one month old Jake...

1. Jake spent the first 10 days of his life in the NICU. I spent everyday for a week going to the hospital at least once a day sometimes 2 or 3 times for his feeding. It was so hard to watch my little boy go through so much with the hole and fluid in his lungs and with an infection on top of it all. Jake has proved he is a strong boy.

2. Jake sneezes a lot. He seems to sneeze in 4-5 incriminates each time. It's so cute watching such a little body sneeze that many times in a row!

3. Jake weighs 8#15oz at his first doctor appointment. That is a whole pound plus some he has gained since birth. Jake is in the 75% for both his height and weight average. What a big boy :) Jake also got a procedure done on his umbilical cord. It was cut off and scabbed over at the office because it showed no signs of falling off. What a crazy procedure!

4. Jake eats every 3-4 hours and takes 4oz each time. Jake wears size 1 diapers, because we ran out of newborn (I am sure he could still wear them if we had the option). Jake wore newborn clothes for only a couple days of being home from the hospital before we moved him to size 0-3 month clothes. What a big change from his sister Andie. I love my growing boy.

5. Jake hates getting his toenails cut. Jakes doesn't mind getting his fingernails cut but go near his feet and you have one unhappy boy!

6. Jake loves being swaddled. It makes it hard when he likes to be swaddled and it's warm outside, I don't want to overheat the poor guy. I do the best I can and swaddle Jake as much as possible. I am guessing from the NICU and being wrapped so much he loves it now.

7. Jake loves to explore. I love Jakes big eyes and tiny face. Whenever Jake is awake his eyes are constantly wandering, staring and exploring. I know it's normal for babies to look around but the curiosity in Jakes eyes of the world around him is astounding.

8. Jake met his sister Andie for the first time. I assume Jake loves his sister more then we know but with him laying so helpless right now when Andie gets near him you see Jakes body tense up. I can't help but smile watching my children love each other and Jake being so scared on if his sister will hurt him :)

9. Jake loves tummy time. I am lucky with my boy to have a baby that loves to lay on his stomach so much. If Jake is having a tough time and crying we just lay him on his stomach and he calms right down. Jake loves laying on his belly just like his Mom.

Jake is such a fantastic new addition to the Wadsworth family. I love cuddling my boy and loving him every moment I get. Watching him grow this past month has been amazing and I can't wait to watch him grow more and more each day to the fantastic young man I know he is!
