Every December one of my most favorite traditions we have made is definitely the Zoo Lights. The kids love this tradition too even if it is freezing cold and you usually don't see many animals. Before we headed out to the zoo I had to run to Walmart and buy some winter coats for Andie and Jake because I am a slacker and I didn't do it when they were on sale last year. So now they have extra large coats that will last them a couple years and they will stay extra warm. After our detour for coats we quickly headed over to the zoo. We love our family time together and the best way to show our fun is the pictures we took, enjoy!

Brooklyn 2 Years 1 Month
Brooklyn my girl your another month older and growing so quickly. We love having you in the family and can't imagine you as nothing else but our baby girl at this time! Brooklyn at 2 years 1 month old...
1. Brooklyn loves songs. Brooklyn has always been our music girl, I don't know how many times I have mentioned in her month posts or how many times I should have mentioned it because my goodness. Brooklyn is constantly dancing and singing to any song or noise she hears. Brooklyn's favorite songs at this time are "Ring around the Rosie", "When were helping were happy" and many more. Brooklyn is to the point she sings along to all the songs too and its cute to listen as she tries to form the words together into the song. I love my princess!
2. Brooklyn loves her sea otter. Brooklyn is still obsessed with her sea otter, or puppy as she calls it, from her birthday. Brooklyn has slept with her "puppy", taken her "puppy" to church or the store and honestly just loves playing with it. Have you ever seen a little kid drag around a pink sea otter with them everywhere, if not I am just going to let you know it is the CUTEST THING EVER!
3. Brooklyn had a double ear infection. This winter has been so bad for the sick department with the flu and colds going around. Brooklyn the poor girl has Mom's genetics and got a double ear infection. Poor girl was not a happy camper, but hey at least you get yummy amoxicillin.
4. Brooklyn hates Mom working. Brooklyn has been struggling so much with Mom working and not putting her to bed each night. I switched to nights thinking it would be easier for the whole family since they all hated me working days and being away all week long. Now its hard because I have to sleep a little during the day and each night when I am working they have Grandpa and Grandma place them to bed. Brooklyn is taking things so hard and really struggling and I wish that I could do something about it sooner.
5. Brooklyn (since Mom has been working nights) is struggling to sleep through the night. Brooklyn isn't having night terrors much anymore but she is still waking up between 1-2 in the morning crying but will calm down shortly after Mom and Dad get her. I hope that this too shall pass and maybe when Mom isn't working nights things shall improve....hopefully.
6. Brooklyn celebrated Thanksgiving. Brooklyn had so much fun celebrating with all her cousins, her siblings and eating yummy food. It was so much fun to be able to watch as she celebrated!
7. Brooklyn is Independent. I have mentioned this so many times before because Brooklyn is just that, Miss Independent. Brooklyn is usually pretty hesitant the first time attempting something BUT then she knows she can do whatever she places her mind too and has to do it by herself and it gives me a heart attack. Brooklyn crossed the aquarium bridge all by herself and watching her out there crossing that rope bridge on her own I realized how much my baby girl isn't my baby anymore, you are growing so FAST!
8. Brooklyn is so excited for the Christmas countdown. Brooklyn doesn't know what Christmas is, in fact whenever she sees a Christmas tree she shouts and starts singing "It's Halloween, It's Halloween" (it cracks me up). Brooklyn is loving all the activities each day as we lead up to Christmas and we have only begun. Brooklyn you have no idea what is coming and you are going to LOVE EVERY MOMENT!
Brooklyn Riley, my girl, you truly are growing up so quickly. You have a joy for life that I love to watch. Your independence to do all you can for yourself and also your kindness to make sure everyone is happy and included. You have a heart of gold my girl! I love you so much!
