Disneyland Vacation: Day 1-3

We always look forward each year to our one week away from normal life and our 2017 week came and it did not disappoint. We left on April 21st after Mom got back from a doctors appointment that morning (I will post more on this after some fun Disneyland posts). While I was gone Zachary packed up the van and had it ready to go when I arrived back. We drove all the way to Mesa Arizona on this Friday and were so excited to explore in the morning. The kiddos all did great on the trip and we only stopped a couple of times when we needed gas or food.

When we were crossing this dam I jumped up from leaning back in my chair watching a movie with the kids and stated, "Is this that dam bridge?" My husband and I just looked at each other and just laughed after that because it sounded so bad. I for some reason thought it was the new bridge over the Hover Dam and realized that it wasn't even the same area to even be that bridge, wow blonde moment.

April 22nd we explored around Arizona to see what we felt like being there. Just in case anyone missed the memo we are planning on moving to Arizona once Zach is down with school. Our hotel served us some free breakfast which is always so nice. We loved just relaxing and having no cares in the world, after all isn't that what vacations are all about. The area we thought we would like best was actually on the bottom of our list after exploring. We can't wait to come back and explore a bit more in the years to come.

Once back at the hotel we promised the kiddos we could go swimming in the pool. It was hilarious because Zachary thought he forgot his swim trunks at home the whole trip (they were in a side pocket on his luggage bag but weren't discovered until unpacking at home). Luckily for him I wear shorts while swimming so I gave him mine to use and just worm my swimsuit. It was so funny to watch us do this and be so uncomfortable but the kids had the time of their life in the freezing cold pool.

Pizza was for dinner because that is always the best sort of dinner. Zachary and I got talking after the kids were sleeping how 2017 was supposed to treat us better and so far we have had NO good luck come our way. I told him I felt like Buzz Lightyear when he was Mrs. Nesbit because he was just going insane. We basically laughed ourselves to sleep because this is a perfect description of us haha.

Sunday April 23rd we were going to drive on to California. We ate some breakfast at the hotel and since it was Sunday and we forgot our Sunday clothes we decided to go walk around the near by temples, after all one day they could be our temples. We first drove by the Mesa Arizona temple and as we were leaving the parking lot there was a church across the street. Jake got so excited and stated "Jesus Christ" while pointing to the church. He stated that he wanted to go to nursery and learn about Jesus Christ, what an amazing little guy we have!

We then drove a little ways to the Gilbert Arizona temple. We walked around the temple and took some pictures, I really liked the temple and I think the kiddos loved it too. I loved that there was a church building right in the parking lot of the temple, how lucky those members are.

After we were settled back in the van we continued our drive on to California for tomorrow would be our first day in Disneyland. Thank you iPads, iPhones and TV to keep us all sane on our long drive the past couple of days. Andie must be related to her mother because she got so sick as we took a bit of a detour off some main roads and threw up a few times, but she handled it like a champ. Here is to tomorrow!
