Disneyland Vacation: Day 5

Day five on our vacation was actually the first day we went to California Adventure. In the past we have found that California Adventure our kids didn't enjoy as much as they have Disneyland but this year I think it was about the same and it was probably because of the fact that the kiddos could go on more of the rides.

We started the morning with our usual routine of making our lunch to take into the park, lathering sunscreen on us (none of us burned, score!) and eating our breakfast. Once in the park we made the Little Mermaid be our first, then of course when you see a character you have to jump so we got to see Nick Wilde from Zootopia.

We went on lots of different rides throughout California Adventure including the Ferris Wheel that we vowed to not go on again this trip because we almost died. As soon as we got to the top and were looking out on the view showing the kids different rides from up high we had a little visitor fly in and scare us half to death. Mr. Bee came in and we were stuck there for awhile, I think I freaked out the most as my life flashed before my eyes haha. Zachary was very calm but I was so nervous one of the kids would get stung. After what felt like the longest 3 minutes of my life the wheel started moving, the bee started flying more crazy so of course our ninja skills came out and the bee finally flew away and we were all stinger free, never again!

Elena of Avalor was in visiting today and she has become a hit in our house since we first heard about a new princess, prior to her show starting. We have watched every episode and love it! Andie, Jake and Brooklyn were all very excited to play her guitar with her, have her sign their book and of course Brooklyn still just watched from a distance, silly girl.

We spent a lot of time in Cars Land as Jake was in heaven. We were saving the Radiator Springs ride till the last day because Jake was a little bit short and only wanted him to ride it the once since we might have had to cheat the system a little, guilty! Andie and Jake both LOVED the tractor ride, Maters Jamboree. The smiles and laughs we got out of them the whole time was priceless.

This backpack actually has a funny story. You know how we said Andie got sick in the car on the way to California? Well when she threw up in the car it was all over our second backpack (we take two to Disneyland, one for lunch/snacks and the other is the diaper bag with extra clothes, hats, sunscreen, diapers, wipes, sweaters, etc.) We had to go out and find a second backpack and the cheapest one they had at Target was this funky design and I LOVE IT!

Only the coolest bathroom door sign EVER!

We rode lots of other rides we didn't take pictures of or already mention but the kids loved them all, Monsters Inc was a hit though. One of my favorite parts of California Adventure is mid day when everyone is hot and getting cranky we make our way to Animations Study and have the kids run around to burn off energy while Mom and Dad cool off. There is lights the kids can chase, music to dance too and Disney movies to watch clips from. Its a favorite for sure! It helps that Anna and Elsa are in that area too and Brooklyn is obsessed with Elsa at this time.

We spent our evening in Bugs Land before heading on over to the World of Color show. The kids really enjoyed the show and they have changed some things up since we had last watched it so it is always so great to see the little changes. We all crashed once we got to the hotel and look forward to our relax day tomorrow, it is much needed!

Jake had the HARDEST time staying awake on the tram ride back to the van. We are always SO THANKFUL for all those who help us at nights as we have tired sleepy kids with all of our bags and strollers.

When we arrived to the hotel at the end of the day, the girls crashed. Jake got to stay up and eat dinner with Mom and Dad and he thought it was the best thing ever even though he was exhausted haha.
